DESCRIPTION:The East Coast Large Scale Train Show is one of the premier model railroading conventions in the eastern United States. DESCRIPTION:For the month of February\, we will not be meeting in in a back yard\, but inside a 200\,000 sq. ft. heated\, covered space – The Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum’s Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly VA. \nWe will walk through the museum and discuss and contrast rail passenger service and air commercial transportation. We will examine this subject decade by decade. When we complete this\, we will migrate to the space hangar to discuss how railroads were critical to the success of the shuttle program. \nWhile we will not be able to run trains\, we will be warm and dry. \nPlan for 45 minutes to 1 hour on concrete\, so you should wear comfortable shoes.
