We held the January meeting, in the community room of the Fairfax Station Railroad Museum on Sunday, January 15th, 2023, from 11:00 until 5:30pm. WVMGRS members created a large table-top layout consisting of three large loops from 11:00 AM to noon. This effort offered us a great opportunity for us to show our cliub to the public. As has become customary, there were a couple of tables for members to swap or sell train related items to other members or to the visiting public.
John Waters-Heflin took care of trailer duties and arrived early to assist Jeff with setting up tables and arranging the burlap covering in time for our arriving members to start laying track, setting up buildings and putting trans on tracks.
This is a great place to hold a meeting, with lots of history from the Civil War and memorabilia from the Southern Railway. The museum was open to the public from noon to 4pm. We held a quick meeting as we were conducting layout teardown.
What a great place to hold a Juanary meeting. Our hosts, Joyce & Jeff Mitulla, ensured everyone enjoyed the event, members and the public. In keeping with great traditions, we were treated with 15 bean soup with ham, and a vegitarian version. Great for a cold January day!
